Repertoire

Igor's solo repertoire embraces all music styles from the baroque works of Bach and Scarlatti to contemporary music. His deep immersion into the different musical eras and the authors’ intentions has allowed him to get the recognition of international juries with outstanding musicians like Vladimir Ashkenazy, Martha Argerich and Sergey Babayan for every musical style he performs. Examples of this are his prizes for the best baroque piece in the the UNISA competition, best contemporary Japanese piece in Hamamatsu competition, best classical sonata in the Verona competition and best Chopin interpretation in the Baltic competition, amongst others.

Remaining always romantic deep in his soul, Igor reveals in each performance his passion for all music genres and directions. He is keen to discover new solo and chamber music works by contemporary composers like Pierre Boulez, Dieter Ammann, Pascal Dusapin, Marc-André Hamelin, Nemanja Radivojević, Stefan Wirth. On the other hand, he is also very interested in conducting historical researches that include his discovery of Glinka’s Viola Sonata manuscripts and a historical informed performance on the fortepiano of those.
